Chris Bunting LLB (Hons)
Specialisms & Experience
Chris is the Department Head for Crime, and deals daily with every type of criminal case, from motoring offences to murder, including RSPCA prosecutions and benefit fraud. He also specialises in defence at courts-martial across the UK and Germany.
A number of Chris’ cases have hit the headlines – he defended a young
mother who escaped jail after leaving her children with a 15 year old
babysitter whilst she went on holiday to Turkey; he represented a G.P.
charged with serious sexual offences against his female patients; he
has also had jail spared for a Hungarian cowboy who attacked his rural
neighbours on horseback!
Chris has also had a number of cases reach the Law Reports including
Court of Appeal decisions upon how a prisoner’s remand time should
affect their release date, and a conviction for theft being overturned
after the complainants failed to mention their own impending trial in
another part of the country for insurance fraud.
Away from work, Chris enjoys squash, golf and football, captaining his squash team for several years.
