Specialisms & Experience

Following qualification, Peter gained broad experience in general practice before deciding to specialise in family and criminal defence work.  Peter is a member of the Law Society’s Family Panel and is also a member of ‘Resolution’  and the Criminal Law Solicitors' Association.

Peter now focuses on Courts Martial cases within the criminal law sphere, but in the family law context, Peter deals primarily with high value matrimonial disputes, although continues to deal with family cases across the board.  Peter is also a member of the North & West Yorkshire Courts Board, which oversees those regions' Courts.


Legal Career & Qualification

1983 - LLB Honours Law Degree – University of Sheffield
1984 - Law Society Final Examination
1984 - Solicitor’s Training Contract with Place Blair & Hatch
1989 - Solicitor of the Supreme Court.
1990 - Law Society Accredited Police Station and Court Duty Solicitor
1995 - Joined Clark Willis to run their criminal law dept.
1997 - 02 - Governor of Middlesbrough College
2004 - Member of the North & West Yorkshire Courts Board to date
2010 - granted Higher Rights of Audience in criminal courts
