Over the last 50 years, Clark Willis Solicitors has earned an enviable reputation for the quality and clarity of our personal legal services that we provide locally, regionally and nationally from our offices in Darlington and Northallerton.

Our core services of family law, residential conveyancing, will writing, and estate administration are readily available from most high street legal practices as well as some national providers who will often deliver their services remotely. The overall outcome of those services is likely to be the same regardless of who you choose; for example, a property will be sold, a Will will be written, or a divorce will be issued through the courts. What will differ, however, will be the cost, the expertise of legal advice, the time taken, and the ultimate service that you experience.

Most legal service users appreciate that a free or low-cost provider is not going to necessarily provide the best legal service experience, but where the cost of a service is the driving factor for a client, there will always be this option in the legal marketplace. In the other extreme, the most expensive legal service firms may be prohibitive to personal service users where the focus is on commercial legal services or ultra-high-net-worth individuals, and these firms set their stalls out and charge accordingly. On occasion, lack of clarity can also mean that what may appear to be a low-cost option may also become a more expensive service in the long run when the ‘hidden extras’ are all added up, for example, in Will writing, with advertised low prices that steeply increase for standard Will items and additional annual charges for storage.

Between these two opposing positions are the numerous high-street law firms that offer similar legal services, have competitive pricing, and cater to the majority of individuals and their legal needs.

Most clients readily understand the concept that when they fly abroad, the airline choice they make will provide them with a different experience on their flight. On short-haul services, this may impact favorable departure and arrival times, the locality of the arrival airport, the chargeable extras to be incurred vs. ‘as standard’ or the boarding and seating process, despite whichever carrier is chosen that will still get you from A to B. On long-haul flights, there is then further choice with economy, business, and first-class offerings on the chosen carrier. In the 1990’s, a further class, premium economy, was introduced to cater for those passengers who could not afford to travel in business or first class but who would willingly pay a little more than economy for some additional comfort and a better experience.

Affordable Premium

As a firm, Clark Willis Solicitors is bringing this premium standard concept to the high-street legal market, and we represent discerning clients who want access to excellent legal advice locally and who want to prioritise the legal experience they will enjoy and the value they will receive over and above the cost. We call this ‘affordable premium’, and it informs how we provide our legal services, how we interact with clients, our workspaces, and how we recruit and develop our team. We are very clear on our values

So whether you are instructing a law firm for the first time, or are a seasoned legal service user, we are quietly confident that for those clients that put value and experience above charges, you will appreciate what we do, and more importantly, how we do it.
